Curriculum vitae of Dr. Iris Edenheiser
Dr Iris Edenheiser studied social and cultural anthropology, religious studies and Hispanic studies at the University of Leipzig and the Universidad de Granada (Spain). As a DFG scholarship recipient in the doctoral programme “Identity and Difference”, she earned her doctorate at the University of Trier with research on ethnicity and gender along the Río Napo in Ecuador. Following an internship at the GRASSI Ethnographical Museum of Leipzig and employment in various functions at the Saxon State Collections of Ethnography and the Reiss-Engelhorn Museums in Mannheim, she served as deputy director at the Museum of European Cultures – Staatliche Museen zu Berlin until the end of 2021. Iris Edenheiser has been director and member of the board of the German Hygiene Museum Foundation in Dresden since January 2022.
