Writing Samples

Conference and reading tour of Nordic and German prose writers

The project “Writing Samples” by the Literaturhaus Lettrétage in Berlin offered Scandinavian and German prose writers a forum for aesthetic positioning, mutual exchange and new literary impulses. Young writers and newcomers to the literary scene from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland have been invited to Berlin to meet with a younger generation of German-speaking writers. Together they attended a two-day writer’s conference, during which they had the opportunity to discuss their literary viewpoints. The working texts, statements and reviews crafted during the conference have been published in an anthology.
Furthermore, public readings in several German cities introduced a panorama of literary works-in-progress to a broad audience. These events were also accessible online as live streams and can later be viewed as podcasts. Parallel to these staged events, the project arranged for participants to meet with established figures in the literary field to help expand the network of various European literary scenes.
