Projektbeschreibung
The “Voices of Arca – Black Writers Book Festival” took place in June 2024 in the newly established Fasiathek in Hamburg, a reference library containing works with a Black perspective. Black writers from the African continent, the African diaspora in Europe and German-speaking countries were invited to participate in a diverse array of formats for three days. The festival offered them the opportunity to engage in dialogue, network and share their stories, positive perspectives, identities, problems and challenges in a wide variety of literary formats and genres. The festival was joined by invited publishers and archives from Germany and abroad to celebrate the diversity and multilingual character of Black literature and make it accessible to all who are interested.
