Performing a Profile Together

In cooperation with the Theater Handgemenge from Neubrandenburg, the Theater Vorpommern in Greifswald had initiated a project, devoted to the thematic complex “Identity, Profile, Responsibility”. Based on the motto “Performing a Profile Together”, the partners examined the central identity-forming figures of their region: Caspar David Friedrich and Phillip Otto Runge. The focus on evoking meaning and building identity in the early Romantic period culminated in a project addressing contemporary phenomena. The first play – a hybrid form of a puppet show and dramatic theatre – highlighted the sphere of Internet profiles. The performance illustrated the life of those who lead an anonymous dual existence in the virtual world and the resulting social consequences.
