Another Map to Nevada

In summer 2020 the Performance Agency is organising an extensive new production for the cities of Berlin and Vienna entitled "Another Map to Nevada". The project is a staged boat ride with performances on the banks of the Spree and Danube Rivers. New productions will be developed for Vienna and Berlin and will feature “riverbed stages” adapted to the respective city.

Colin Self’s transcendent stories accompany the audience on a two-hour boat ride and introduce a series of performative works which envision new realities. For example, a passing boat sets a sculptural work by Thea Djordjadze in motion, followed by an encounter with the fighting body of the visual artist Jimmy Robert. The artist Astrit Ismaili joins the group as ‘Miss Kosovo’, a character from her pop operetta “MISS”. All the performances are connected by a single element – sound – arranged by Bill Kouligas. He integrates the compositions of the various performances into an immersive soundscape. The productions include texts, performances, music, dance pieces and films.

The guests who participate in the boat rides will be encouraged to pay close attention to details, to the unexpected, seemingly accidental encounters. For them, the city itself will become the stage.
