Sorry

A Nigerian-German theatre production – supported by the TURN Fund

"Sorry" © Monster Truck

Inspired by the horror movies of the Nollywood film industry, the German theatre group Monster Truck and the Nigerian theatre group The Footprints are collaborated on a production titled “Sorry” about vampires and other creatures of the night. On stage are five orphans from Lagos and one fat German man. Everything after that boils down to guilt and innocence. A post-colonial play with no holds barred, in which the distribution of power appears clearly defined. Yet who is dependent on whom here? And who is sucked dry in the end?

A production by Monster Truck and The Footprints in co-production with the Theater Rampe Stuttgart, Forum Freies Theater Düsseldorf, Goethe-Institut Nigeria and SOPHIENSÆLE. Funded in part by the Governing Mayor of Berlin - Senate Chancellery - Cultural Affairs.

Artistic directors: Segun Adefila (NG), Sahar Rahimi (DE); Featuring: The Footprints, Andreas Klinger; Concept: Monster Truck, Segun Adefila; Dramaturgy: Marcel Bugiel; Sound: Alice Ferl; Artistic collaboration: Seun Awobajo, Artist support: Theresa Pommerenke, Abiodun Sinat Adefila; Production management: ehrliche arbeit - freies Kulturbüro
