Pèlerinages Kunstfest Weimar 2009

"The Ideals" is the motto of the Kunstfest Weimar 2009 - a reference to Franz Liszt's piece of the same name. Liszt, once again the musical role model of the festival, composed music to one of Schiller's poems that reminds us of the impermanence of many of our ideals - youth, love, art and nature.
As in past years, the Kunstfest in 2009 presented works in all artistic areas, in particular, contemporary music and contemporary dance. The performances featured commissioned works alongside established pieces. The pianists Markus Hinterhäuser and Marino Formenti performed as the artists in residence at the festival.
The DanceMediaAcademy took place again for the third year in a row. It offers renowned artists and young professionals a forum on interdisciplinary research which, in 2009, emphasized the relationship between sound and architecture.
