Rendez-Vous

Herford in Westphalia is one of the most important centres of the German furniture industry. The MARTa Herford design museum, currently under construction, was initiated by business and political representatives. Although it was originally conceived as a "house of furniture", MARTa is becoming more a museum for modern art. The Cameroon artist Pascale Marthine Tayou will use the building's architecture designed by Frank O. Gehry as a reference for his installations on the subject of the city, one of the first exhibitions to be shown at MARTa.
