Project description
In his book Exiting the Vampire Castle in 2013, the British theorist Mark Fisher claimed that “social class” had received far less consideration in left-leaning circles than such categories as “race” and “gender”. This project addresses this observation and asks why the tendency is also found in current art discourse. The featured works which include several brand-new pieces, as well as an extensive accompanying programme at venues in Munich and a corresponding publication, focus on how contemporary artistic production and social class influence one another.
