Visions of Labor

World trade has become globalised. International networks are increasingly becoming the domain of production and communication. In light of these developments, it seems that the efforts of nationally-minded unions and workers' associations are anachronistic. The project "Visions of Labor" aimed to examine political worker interest groups which have distanced themselves from the traditional image of national associations representing workers, and instead seek alliances with international movements. The project consisted of an online forum, an interactive databank and a documentary film about the "best practices" of union-like self-organization.
